About Discover Wyre Trails

What Will You Discover?

Welcome to the Discover Wyre Trails, a set of interactive trails in and around Wyre for locals and visitors to enjoy!

The Project

Between 2021-2022, Wyre Council worked with this great adventure and members of the local community in Fleetwood, Garstang, and Cleveleys to develop several trails about this amazing region and the people who live, work, and visit here. Trails include local voices, film footage of our landscapes and people, fascinating stories, and lots of opportunities to connect with local artists, craftspeople, and businesses.

This is an ongoing, evolving project, with opportunity for new content to be added - so keep an eye out for new trails and stories!

If you would like to get involved in the project, or have a great story to share, please get in touch (contact details below).

All content is freely accessible anywhere and on any device with an internet connection.

 Heritage Action Zone

In May 2019, Historic England launched a multi-million pound fund to create new ways to champion and revive the country’s historic high streets through the High Streets Heritage Action Zones scheme.

The council is working with Historic England to develop a proposed scheme which focuses on the high street area near Albert Square, Victoria Street, Adelaide Street and St Peter’s Church. Support will also be available for the development of local research projects, Conservation Area Appraisals, and events by local organisations that support the investment.

To register your interest in the funding, to nominate a building or area for funding, or to find out more about the support for events please contact us at: future.fleetwood@wyre.gov.uk
